Hebrews 3: 1-2 Therefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our confession, Christ Jesus, who was faithful to Him who appointed Him, as Moses also was faithful in all His house.
I follow the Department of Defense news items each day to keep track of the soldiers, airmen marines and sailors who give their lives in our nation’s service.
Quite often there will be an announcement of a change of command ceremony, recently there was one in a unit a friend of mine is in and I was able to see pictures of it on his wife’s FB page. Solemn ceremony.
When the new command comes in the old steps out, still respected but no longer in charge.
Moses was the great lawgiver used by God in a mighty way to educate his people and lead them toward the promised land.
For thousands of years they followed (more or less) the Law handed down from Mt Sinai. It was God’s textbook for them. It was the command they were to sail under.
Then a greater than Moses appeared. and there was a powerful change of command but the pomp and circumstance was displayed on a cross outside the city at first then powerfully consummated in a glorious resurrection 3 days later.
John 1:17 For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.
That change of command was that you and I might have access to God the Father and not only be his servants but be family. We still respect the law of God and follow it’s moral tenets but not to GAIN salvation but to prove it.
Have you submitted to the new commander? Are you still trying to earn a place in his Kingdom? STOP Grace and Truth have come and as many as received him to them he gave power to become the sons of God even to them that believe on his name.
You ponder that
Amen
