Let me begin my next step by saying that I strongly believe that according to scripture in Proverbs 16:3 that I must fully commit to God for my ministry to others in all I do for it is God that will establish my plans
The Christian life springs from our grateful response to what God is doing for us, in us, and through us in Jesus Christ
As a case manager, it is my job to find resources for the person I am working with to meet their goals; as a Chaplain, I am providing spiritual resources to those in need. I can see how having both skill sets can be used in many capacities.
It is my personal belief that God allows us to go through hardships in life in order to continue to perfect us for His glory. I have had many hardships over the years; I am far from perfect though.
When I was younger I never thought I’d live to see 30, then as I passed 30, 35, then 40, I still had to always be right on the edge, always wide open. Most of those who knew me pretty much also believed I was living on borrowed time.
When someone picks up and reads the Bible, unless otherwise trained, they will understand the text in light of their own cultural prejudices. Is this a good thing or something to be avoided?
It is given to us to show others, believers and non-believers alike, that there is a “Christ you never knew”.
Obviously, I can pray on the run but at least some of my daily prayer life should be in a quiet place so not only can I talk to God, but I can listen to hear from Him as well.
There is a lot that I can say about my philosophy on ministry when I first started back in the early 90s.
