Jesus Christ is the perfect example to be followed in chaplaincy ministry. It is from this truth of the servant ministry of Jesus that my ministry starts and continues.
Having the title of Regional Director sounds big and fancy, but it is actually a path of me following along with the regional chaplains and serving any way I’m able to. Being an RD for BBI is a way for me to stay connected to the ministry in an otherwise busy season of my life.
Giving of time, talent and knowledge (when asked) where they are in each one’s own environment would do more to demonstrate the Father’s love for His children than anything.
Listening to people will involve many things including their words, body language, eyes, movements and positions. When speaking to someone it is crucial to listen first and assess their needs using all available information before deciding on the best way to help.
My calling specifically revolves around music, and to minister first, to those who have a knowledge of God, but no personal relationship with Him. Secondly, I am called to minister with compassion, empathy, and understanding to those who do not know Christ and to be what they need at that time.
I know we are mainly geared to ministering to bikers but I believe as a Chaplain if we run into any situation when people are hurting for whatever reason we should be ready to help.
My practical service of education, evaluation and group treatment provide for several roles that are already needed in my community.
Each one of us needs to look after the good of the people around us, asking ourselves, “How can I help?” That’s exactly what Jesus did and I want to follow in His example.
My vision of ministry as a woman starts first and foremost at my home and with my family.
