My Philosophy of Ministry

By Randy Rogers

My personal philosophy of ministry as a Chaplain is that it is based solely on the word of God.

I believe as a Chaplain we have to be ready to witness to anyone of any denomination but not waiver from our beliefs. We are not to try to turn them necessarily from their beliefs but minister to them in a way that they see the Jesus we believe in, in us. We are to be ready to minister to anyone in any given situation which means we are to be well versed in the word of God. I know we are mainly geared to ministering to bikers but I believe as a Chaplain if we run into any situation when people are hurting for whatever reason we should be ready to help.

Also, I believe in a disaster situation we should be ready to come alongside Chaplains of all walks of life to assist in any way possible. I believe we should have people around us that can help us stay accountable to the office we have been called into and be ready to help others stay accountable. I believe we should be ready for any situation that could come up but also know we have to respect the rights of the people we are ministering to. My main goal in being a Chaplain is to let the light of Christ shine through in everything I do whether it ministering or just out for a day of fun and relaxation.
