My Chaplain Philosophy

When I contemplate on what it means to be in ministry, I think about bringing hope to the least. When my brothers and sisters are going through trials and need guidance, I meet them where they are. My faith keeps me moving in the direction God has chosen for me. As a Christian in a world that is so diverse, I do understand not to push that proverbial envelope to respect what others believe; but at the same time holding on to God’s truth. I want to be an example of the diversity of the Body of Christ, an example others can follow. (David Polk)   Profound statement!

Ministering in the biker community (Motor Ministry) can be a challenge but, God never said come I have an easy assignment for you. Understanding the way of life within the unchurched community and ministering to them on their terms is to have respect, loyalty and above all remain confidential. Being an ambassador to reach out in whatever capacity the situation calls for. Doing a bike blessing, praying over the rider while including his prized possession allows us to silently bring God front and center. I have witnessed tears at the end of a prayer. Intersensory Ministry is strong in our encounters.

As God’s spiritual representative, the vision I have is to minister to the community. In our daily movements there is always someone that has a need to be comforted. In the market place, taking a walk in the park, or a biker event God will put somebody before us. Go out into the arena reach out to those who have difficulty reaching. Bikers and Vets are close knit groups that live in a world that few understand. Most feel alone because society (as a whole) will stereotype them. It is my prayer that Jesus shines His light through me to bring love and peace; by being a listener and a comforter when and where ever the need is.

May God send His Holy Spirit before you,

God Bless!
