1 Thess 5: 11-14 …

comfort each other and edify one another, just as you also are doing. 12 And we urge you, brethren, to recognize those who labor among you, and are over you in the Lord and admonish you, 13 and to esteem them very highly in love for their work’s sake. Be at peace among yourselves. 14 Now we exhort you, brethren, warn those who are unruly, comfort the fainthearted, uphold the weak, be patient with all. 15 See that no one renders evil for evil to anyone, but always pursue what is good both for yourselves and for all.

Quite a list of relationship building needs here look at them:

  • Comfort one another.
  • Build one other up.
  • Have honor for one other.
  • Be at peace among yourselves.
  • Warn the unruly.
  • Comfort the faint hearted.
  • Uphold the weak.

Now PLEASE do not write that list down and make people do it.

Oh it is a good list and very necessary but the key is to first of all let God love you even if you do not feel worthy and then pass it on.

All of these good things to do are really what comprises a term we have messed with “Accountability“

We have the idea that means “I need a watch dog to make sure i am doing it right.” Now that is a part of this, But it also means is “I need brothers and sisters to walk with me to encourage me when I am doing it well also.

I need someone to listen before giving good advice.I need to listen also. I need someone to build up and to build me up. I need someone to let me know my work for the King has value just as I am to look at what they are doing and letting them know that work has value. I need a place I can just be honest with someone about personal matters and know it is safe. I need someone to correct me if they see me headed down wrong path. I am blessed d because I have that. PS The one who can correct me has earned the right to speak.

I need someone to encourage me when i am ready to give it all up and I need someone to encourage that way as well.

You Ponder That
