Suffering has a purpose
Hebrews 2: 10-13 For it was fitting for Him, for whom are all things and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons to glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.
Jesus suffering had an eternal purpose. It was to bring many sons to glory. Paul said to the Roman Church and us in ch 8:17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.
Suffering has a purpose. Peter wrote in 1 Peter 4:12 -14 Beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you; but rejoice to the extent that you partake of Christ’s sufferings, that when His glory is revealed, you may also be glad with exceeding joy. If you are reproached for the name of Christ, blessed are you, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you. On their part He is blasphemed, but on your part He is glorified.
But in verse 15-16 he shows that there is some suffering that is self inflicted. “ But let none of you suffer as a murderer, a thief, an evildoer, or as a busybody in other people’s matters. Yet if anyone suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God in this matter.
So make sure that you are not in a hardship because you act like a twit, are obnoxious and offensive to people. Or that you violate the law . Make sure that if you suffer it will result in glory.
Also one other purpose in suffering that is huge. In 2 Cor 1:3-5 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also abounds through Christ.
Maybe comforting others is even an avenue to sharing his glory.
You ponder that
