Jesus entered Jericho and was passing through. 2 A man was there by the name of Zacchaeus; he was a chief tax collector and was wealthy. 3 He wanted to see who Jesus was, but because he was short he could not see over the crowd. 4 So he ran ahead and climbed a sycamore-fig tree to see him, since Jesus was coming that way.

Luke 19;1,10
5 When Jesus reached the spot, he looked up and said to him, “Zacchaeus, come down immediately. I must stay at your house today.” 6 So he came down at once and welcomed him gladly.

7 All the people saw this and began to mutter, “He has gone to be the guest of a sinner.”

8 But Zacchaeus stood up and said to the Lord, “Look, Lord! Here and now I give half of my possessions to the poor, and if I have cheated anybody out of anything, I will pay back four times the amount.”

9 Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this house, because this man, too, is a son of Abraham. 10 For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.

Zacchaeus was very interested in our Lord so much that he ran ahead and climbed up in a tree. He really wanted to meet Jesus , when Jesus saw him this pleased his heart. He was so happy the he told him I’m coming to your house to eat with you.

Zacchaeus was so moved by our Lord that he repented of his sins , Jesus told him salvation has come to your house this day !!

Jesus has this effect on the heart , only he changes a man and brings salvation to the soul. I thought about this event between the two , how excited Zacchaeus must have been to meet Jesus.

Hearing about all he had done , healing the sick , teaching , forgiving sins. All this enough to change his heart , Zacchaus got it what it was about. Change of heart leaving the old man behind and following Jesus.

Once you start don’t look back , keep striving to do better climb the mountain. Some people no matter how it goes they hold on to stuff and become bitter. This is not what Jesus intended for you , give it to him and hold on. God will change the heart if you let him.

The 2 questions that come to my mind of what God will ask , what did you do with my Son ? and what did you do with the relationships I gave you ?

Did you accept Jesus as Lord ? Did you love the people I sent you ? It doesn’t matter how the people act around you , how did you respond ? What did you do , did you respond with love or no ?

It’s hard but let Jesus lead you into the way you should go and do.
