Under The Blood
By Ricci Fayard
“Now the blood shall be a sign for you on the houses where you are. And when I see the blood, I will pass over you; and the plague shall not be on you to destroy you when I strike the land of Egypt.”
Exodus 12:13
When the Pharaoh refused to let God’s people go free, God delivered the last and worst of the 10 plagues, the plague of the first born. So Moses delivered God’s message to Pharaoh that all the first born of Egypt, including the Pharaoh’s son, would die about midnight. To protect God’s people from the plague, the people were instructed to smear the blood of a lamb over their doorway as a sign that they are God’s obedient people. When the destroyer, God’s death angel, would pass over their homes and saw the blood, no harm would come to them. This came to pass. From then on they gave thanks to God for saving them from death and bringing them out of the land of slavery and sin by celebrating the feast of the Passover. Today, believers have a day of deliverance. When we accept Christ as our savior, we are delivered from spiritual death and sin.
As we go through our current struggles, remember how God has delivered His people. Remember how he delivered each of us in the past. Focus on your new life with Christ. Stand confident in the protection we receive as we are “Under the Blood” of Christ!
Father, I thank you for the blood shed by Your Son to bring us Salvation. May we claim the protection of the Blood of Christ in today’s crisis.
In Jesus’ name, amen.
Excellent! and a confirmation to what God showed me this morning – to anoint our doors and windows with oil and pray over our homes, our families and friends.
